Anxy Magazine Issue 3 (the Boundaries Issue) is available now on loremnotipsum.com. Personal boundaries help define what’s okay, and what’s not. They can protect our sense of self, or reflect our sense of self worth. Sometimes, they appear unexpectedly—other times, we’re not sure they exist at all. What do our boundaries say about who we are, where we’ve been, and how we’re feeling inside? How are they shaped by our anxiety? Our trauma? Our mental health? When do we build our boundaries up, and when do we let them slide?

Our third issue examines boundaries from every angle through Anxy’s celebrated mix of reported features, personal essays, interviews, artwork and photography from folks we admire.

Anxy Magazine features one-on-one conversations with creative people about mental health. Maybe it begins as a nagging irritation and develops into a Hulk-like rage; or perhaps it just eats away at you slowly. We wanted to bring the ever-present, shape-shifting nature of anger to the pages of Anxy. And so this issue is packed with personal stories, candid interviews, stunning photography, poems, and more.

Highlights include

Hip-hop artist Open Mike Eagle as interviewed by Bijan Stephen

Alana Hope Levinson on broken homes

Samantha Irby on anxiety-induced boundaries

an interview with artist and photographer Fabiola Jean-Louis by Maaza Mengiste

Eric Reidy reporting from Lebanon on the psychological stress facing Syrian refugees

and Dayna Evans on the weight of silence between family members.

…plus stories, photography and artwork from: Kendrick Brinson, Merijn Hos, Aundre Larrow, Mike McKenney, Daiana Ruiz, Ruohan Wang, Anthony Zinonos, Heath West, Jessica Chou,Maria Medem, Najeebah Al-Ghadban, Michelle Mildenbergand more.
