Boat Magazine Issue 3 (the London Issue) is available now on loremnotipsum.com. Boat Magazine Issue 3 (the London Issue) stayed anchored in London. With the coverage of the Olympics and the Jubilee, London was in full swing as being presented to the world in a wash of pomp of ceremony.

We packed away the bunting and tried to get to grips with what it really means to live and work in this city of seven million. Writers include Nick Hornby and Jon Ronson. We talked to Diana Athill about her experiences of the city, went training with Olympic 400m Runner and Youth Worker Conrad Williams, and looked at some of the more unusual places Londoners have chosen to live to. Simon Roberts took photographs of the extremes of the city’s financial landscapes, and Will Robson-Scott and James Pearson-Howes viewed the city from the top deck of a bus.

Boat Magazine is a nomadic biannual and independent travel and culture publication that focuses on a different, inspiring city for each issue. Born out of our love for travel, we’re not a typical travel magazine that tells you where to eat, where to stay, and where to spa. In fact, you probably won’t find any of those things in Boat Magazine. We try to dig a little deeper when we travel – our editorial is raw and honest from both the locals’ point of view and ours as outsiders working there. Our photos are stunning and gritty, each one telling a story of its own. We take a small team of contributors with us to each city and set up camp for a few weeks. Working with locals to create the stories, interviews, photos, and art that go into each issue, we strike a balance between inside/outside coverage keeping the perspectives varied and interesting.
