Fieldfare Magazine Issue 3 is available now on loremnotipsum.com and explores the idea of sanctuary. We visit the bucolic Somerset in England, the remote region of Ladakh in India, and the island of Andros in Greece. We discover some of London’s most beloved green spaces and take a trip to Mykines in the Faroe Islands. We see the city of Lviv through the lens of Ukrainian photographer Olena Kalashnyk, and meet Oscar Gutierrez, a Guatemalan photojournalist based in Cape Town, who documented apartheid in South Africa.

We explore the connection between food and place with chef and forager Harriet Mansell in Dorset, and we interview food and travel photographer Joanna Yee in London. We visit the home of designer Ginger Lunt in Oahu, Hawaii, and seek inspiration at a creative haven in the former mining town of Bisbee, Arizona. We discover the morning rituals of designer and illustrator Holly Webber and the work of Oregonian poet laureate Anis Mojgani. We contemplate themes of pilgrimage, refuge, repose and flow.

Fieldfare is an independent print journal published twice a year in the UK. It explores the idea of “a sense of place”—the things and people that make a place special or unique and that foster a sense of belonging. Through a series of photo essays, travel features, personal essays, interviews and profiles of artists, gardeners and beautiful homes, we take a longer, slower look at what connects us. The goal is to make a beautiful, inspiring magazine that looks and feels so good, you’ll want to keep it forever. What does fieldfare mean, anyway? “Fieldfare: a large migratory thrush with a grey head which breeds in northern Europe and winters in Great Britain. The Old English word feldefare perhaps meant ‘traveller through the fields’, from felde (field) + faran (to travel).”
