La Rampa Issue 4 (Portugal) is available on loremnotipsum.com. La Rampa is re-launching with an odyssey through Black Portugal. We have collaborated with academics, activists, artists and writers in examining and re-interpreting the multi-layered complexities of contemporary Portugal, even if it exposed colonial wounds as it embraced powerful new voices. La Rampa Portugal is a counter atlas reflecting the histories and narratives of the country’s African and Afro-descendant communities through modern social movements that are creating alternative models of knowing through their own archives and images.

La Rampa Magazine is an anthology of counter histories and new narratives. La Rampa – which takes its name from the final stretch of the famous Calle 23 in Havana, is an independent large format publication, something between a magazine and a book. The publication focuses on counter histories and new narratives, bringing attention to the many languages of resistance, re-conceptualizing the way in which we understand the past, experience the present and re-imagine the future. Issues present geo-political spaces connected by shared memories bringing together artists, writers and thinkers from different backgrounds and disciplines. La Rampa Magazine aims to challenge historical narratives and visuality that have defined people and places and how they see themselves, contributing to the archives of the Global South — fostering future mechanisms of resistance. La Rampa is a large format annual limited edition publication, bilingual (English, Portuguese).
