So sind Sie doch leise bitte! Merken Sie nicht, dass die Leute hier alle schon pennen?! Der Art Director hat den Drei-Tage-wach-Test nicht bestanden und schläft schon seit vier Stunden den Schlaf des Ungerechten. Und die andere Herausgeberschaft schnarcht sich im Kaminzimmer den Arbeitsrausch aus, der nach dem zwanzigsten doppelten Espresso ebenso unvermeidlich ist wie das Kopfweh, das man nach einem Text von Boris Maskow bekommt (Seite 78). Mit den Resten seiner mitgebrachten Champagner haben wir die Fertigstellung des dritten Schluck begossen. Und jetzt bin nur mehr ich hier, um Ihnen zu sagen, dass es mir eine Freude ist, Sie wieder dabeizuhaben.

Doch halt! Wer sind Sie denn? Sie habe ich hier noch nie gesehen! Ach, Sie sind ein neuer Leser? Dann erzähle ich schnell, dass Schluck ein Weinmagazin ist, das die drei Herausgeber Julia Klüber, Paul Truzskowski und Christian Schärmer deswegen gegründet haben, weil sie so eine Zeitung immer schon lesen wollten. Dass dies zur andauernden Überarbeitung führen würde, war freilich abzusehen. Doch wer denkt schon an Konsequenzen, wenn ihn die Leidenschaft treibt.

Schluck Vol. III hat eine ganz einfache Botschaft. Sie lautet: Wenn Europas Politiker Europa nicht retten, dann müssen es diejenigen tun, die die einzige Kultur vertreten, die seit einer Ewigkeit und drei Tagen in Europa die einzig gültige Leitkultur darstellt – und das ist die Weinkultur. Winzer, Weinhändler und Weinenthusiasten prägten Europa mehr als
fliegende Holländer, deutsche Heldensagen oder griechisches Finanzwesen. So ist Schluck Vol. III nicht nur ein Heft mit Ansage geworden, sondern eine Art Völkerball mit anschließender Bestandsaufnahme. Und auch eine Aufforderung: Wir wollen sein ein einig Volk besoff ener Schwestern und Brüder.

Pssst! So sind Sie doch leise bitte. Wir haben Tage und Nächte an dieser Ausgabe geschuftet. Wir haben viele Leute durch den vielfältigsten, schönsten, bereicherndsten und geschichtsträchtigsten Kontinent der Erde gejagt und zusammenklauben lassen, was die Union und ihre andockenden Vasallen an weinseligen Geschichten hergeben. Nur ich bin jetzt noch wach und schreibe diese letzten Zeilen, bevor das Ganze gleich in Druck geht. Darf ich nun auch ein paar Stunden die Augen zumachen? Ja? Sehr gnädig! Danke.

PS: Darf ich Sie im Halbschlaf noch drauf hinweisen, dass wir für Sie einen Wein cuvéetiert haben. Einen Wein für Europa. Aus Weinen Europas. Verbrochen hat dieses Gepansche der großartige Stéphane Derenoncourt. Und man kann es ab Dezember kaufen. Sie können sicher sein, dass ich sehr genau hinsehe, wer hier zuschlägt und wer nicht. Irgendwann im Leben begegnet man sich wieder, pflegte der süditalienische Mann zu sagen, der mich in Palermo aufzog. Schreiben Sie sich das hinter die Ohren!

Lange haben wir nach so einem Magazin gesucht, es aber nie gefunden. Jetzt machen wir es selbst! Schluck – Das anstössige Weinmagazin. Das Schluck Magazin wurde von Julia Klüber, Paul Truszkowski und Christian Schärmer ins Leben gerufen, weil die drei dachten, sie brauchen eine Zeitschrift, die niemand macht. Noch dazu eine Weinzeitschrift, also die Zeitschrift einer sehr speziellen Welt. Und weil kein Verlag eine Weinzeitschrift verlegt, die eine Ergänzung zu den vielen, durchaus enthusiastischen Weinblogs ist, so machen die drei ihr eigenes Weinmagazin, ohne Grossverlag. Und für sich. Und für ein paar Freunde. Es sind dann 10’686 Freunde geworden, eine Kleinstadt.
