The Beautiful Truth Issue 2 is available now on loremnotipsum.com. The Beautiful Truth magazine celebrates people and businesses who are embracing life with purpose – to create a more empathetic, more equitable, and greener world.

We have the power to create a world that will thrive for generations. But transformational change will only come when we make the choice to think beyond ourselves. Issue 2 of The Beautiful Truth invites us to think about our place on the planet – as individuals and businesses – through inspirational stories, interviews and poetry that inspire purposeful thinking in our increasingly short-term world.

The Beautiful Truth is a magazine that celebrates the people and businesses who are embracing life with purpose – to create a more empathetic, more equitable, and greener world. The Beautiful Truth Magazine is published by The Beautiful Truth Group. It exists to help people embrace life with purpose — as individuals, as businesses and in our world. The group consists of three brands that share a cause, a set of values, and a studio space. But above all, they share a belief in a world where people’s values, ambitions and business align – to create lasting benefit for all stakeholders, and to overcome the challenges of our world.

Content

The Evolution of Corporate Purpose
The German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer proposed that there are three stages in the reception of an idea. First, it is greeted with ridicule. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is embraced and there is a general consensus that the idea was, in fact, obvious all along. Charles Wookey, Co-founder and former CEO of A Blueprint for Better Business explores how corporate purpose has had just such a reception.

The Superpower of Uncertainty
What do a former professional poker player and a neural science professor have in common? More than you might think. Though differing in profession, decision-making consultant (and poker champion) Annie Duke and psychology and neural-science professor Jay Van Bavel are both fascinated by the superpower of uncertainty and the dangers of overconfidence. Friends for a number of years and often crossing paths in intellectual spheres, they each offer unique perspectives on uncertainty.

Inspiring Infinity
Thinking into the distant future is not easy, especially on infinite timescales, but we must recognise the need for conscious, compassionate, long-term thinking. We showcase the projects and people who are contemplating, living and inspiring a truly infinite mindset – whether safeguarding the lives yet to exist or inviting us to think beyond our own lifetimes.
