Cedar Magazine – Issue 2

CHF 24.00 (incl. VAT)

Cedar Magazine Issue 2 (A Borrowed Landscape) is now available at LOREM. ‘Borrowed Landscape’ seemed a fitting title for our second issue as so many of the gardens and people we visited allowed their locality to form a distinctive signature to their story.

Cedar Magazine Issue 2 (A Borrowed Landscape) is now available at LOREM (not Ipsum). ‘Borrowed Landscape’ seemed a fitting title for our second issue as so many of the gardens and people we visited allowed their locality to form a distinctive signature to their story. We talk to Fergus Garrett, head gardener at Great Dixter, who takes us on a sensory tour of the world famous Sussex garden. We take to the road to uncover hidden gardens in the Scottish Highlands and Inner Hebrides. Join in conversation with River Cottage chef Gill Meller, to discuss his honest approach to food and writing. We discover the story behind the Japanese Garden created in a secluded valley in Cornwall and explore the beautifully time worn gardens of Rousham, an enduring example of the English Landscape Movements. Where the grounds can be enjoyed in much the same way the 18th century visitor would have explored the paths and lingered over the vistas.

Cedar Magazine is a travel and lifestyle magazine inspired by nature. In this issue we talk to The Ethicurean, a restaurant with a sense of place at the heart of everything they do. We take to the road and visit the Cornish garden of one of Britain’s most iconic sculptors, Barbara Hepworth. Uncover the ancient gardens on the ragged shores of Sicily and explore the city of Bath, a city framed in green.

Here at Cedar we are real enthusiasts for the art of stumbling across things, venturing outdoors and turning the corner to discover somewhere new or hidden. Whilst we enjoy discovering faraway hinterlands our curiosity is really sparked by the people and places in our communities and local areas who inspire ideas for our own lifestyle and pursuits. At Cedar we enjoy being present in a moment, immersed in the slower pace of life, a yearning for simplicity that is symptomatic of a hectic lifestyle of work and information overload. The importance of sitting down with a good story and cup of coffee should never be overlooked. We hope to take you on a visual journey that engages with the landscape. The result is a curated collection of stories and photography inspired by nature. A place where we encourage you to explore your surroundings and there potential through conversations with passionate people and documenting our own travels. We hope to be a little part of your daily escapism.
