DOG magazine is a modern lifestyle publication exploring the presence and influence of dogs and their owners in society. Each issue centers on a common topic and explores the meaningful interactions and love of individuals and their dogs through photographic portfolios, interviews, personal essays, informative material on breeds and creative content. Personal, visual, poetic, current and innovative, DOG offers original content and a new perspective to dog lovers and owners. Content for DOG magazine will come from a variety of creative sources mirroring the diversity of dog owners and lovers. Submissions from emerging or established photographers, designers, illustrators, writers, designers, makers and visual artists, and any dog owner, give DOG a fresh vision of what dog mean to humans. DOG is a biannual global publication, printed in London.
- In Issue 6, we visit designer Dries Van Noten at his beautiful home in Belgium. We discuss the inspiration behind his most recent collection, the fashion scene in Antwerp, and what life is like with his dog, Harry the Airedale Terrier, who is this issue’s cover star. Sadly, Harry passed away just before we went to print, so we dedicate this issue to him.
- We take a trip to Yorkshire – the Airedale’s birthplace – as part of our travel section, to discover the rolling dales and rural landscape this breed calls home. We also explore some of the county’s most famous exports, from Yorkshire tea to David Hockney.
- We chat to Kate Spicer, the author behind Lost Dog: A Love Story, to find out what it takes to write a bestselling memoir, and how she coped with losing her beloved pooch, Wolfy.
- And of course, there are plenty of pages filled with illustrations and photographs to feast your eyes on.
