Buffalo Zine No. 9 is out now. For the ninth issue of Buffalo Zine, we’re delving into the murky world of imitation, from copies to clones, fakes to frauds, parodists to plagiarists. As Pablo Picasso once said: good artists copy, great artists steal. Except he didn’t actually come up with it. He copied it from T.S. Eliot.

    The Weekender Book – Singapore

The Weekender Book Singapore by Matthew Chen will present Singapore in a different and more laid-back perspective than you might be used to. However, it will still showcase the iconic architecture and landmarks that juxtapose with a melting pot of diverse heritages/cultures and remnants of the city-state’s colonial past. And at the same, this issue explores the blurred boundaries between the old and the new, the hardscapes and the softscapes.

Flaneur Magazine – Issue 9 (Paris)

Flaneur Magazine Issue 9 (Boulevard Périphérique, Paris) is available now on loremnotipsum.com. The Boulevard Périphérique is mostly perceived as an infrastructure of communication. It is, indeed, a road. And whilst the opening scene of La la land (2016) made us reconsider the opportunities offered to us by traffic jams, a road is mainly designed for high-speed circulation. You don’t dwell on the ring road - you pass through.

Buffalo Zine No. 9 is out now. At a time when referencing, borrowing and adapting are everywhere — but our obsession with authenticity and uniqueness has never been greater — what does it mean to be original today? For the ninth issue of Buffalo Zine, we’re delving into the murky world of imitation, from copies to clones, fakes to frauds, parodists to plagiarists. As Pablo Picasso once said: good artists copy, great artists steal. Except he didn’t actually come up with it. He copied it from T.S. Eliot.

Buffalo Zine is not only a biannual publication with a cult following, but also a creative studio working with the best brands and talents. Buffalo Zine 6 has been described on the website with the following quote: “Buffalo Zine’s new issue is like a very weird Ikea catalogue. From the oldest and largest Ikea store in the world and Grayson Perry’s studio in London to the set of a Mexican soap opera, the backdrops give an additional and impressive layer to the features within the issue.”
