Marfa Journal is now Marfamily. The first issue out now and available on loremnotipsum.com. Reinventing magazine design and art direction.

Marfamily is a printed publication inspired by Marfa, Texas and created by artists for artists. A capital of cultural disorder, Marfa, Texas is a small town of just over 2,000 people located in the middle of a desert not far from the Mexican border, and a place that has attracted the attention of the art world since the ‘60s. Marfamily is a platform that connects contemporary high end fashion and art.

Marfamily issue 1 includes Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Neal Jones, Natasha Poly and Brian Belott, along with more earth-shattering content that will change the world and usher in a new era of peace and love. It is different, not just from MARFA JOURNAL, but from any other magazine.

Marfamily is created by Alexandra Gordienko and a tight circle of her friends whilst still at Central Saint Martins in 2013 – Marfamily is a collaborative project, presenting an intimate take on the current state of culture. It blends various disciplines of contemporary arts into the format of a hardcover book. Marfamily offers intimate conversation with artists from all around the world like Michael Dean, Urs Fischer, Paloma Varga Weisz, Jenny Holzer, Nate Lowman, Lizzie Fitch / Ryan Trecartin, Jeffrey Deitch, Adam McEwen, Lynda Benglis, Enzo Cucchi, Nicole Wermers, Agathe Snow, Richard Mosse – we even talked to Harmony Korine’s whilst swimming in the pool of his home in Miami. The VIPs of the creative world from Anjelica Huston, Ozzy Osbourne, Lana Del Rey, Chloe Sevigny, Anne Hathaway, Kirstn Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg and even Larry Flynt have memorably graced its covers. List does’t stop with the VIPs – Marfamily model division includes Lindsey Wixson, Gemma Ward, Natasha Poly, Lexi Boling, Catherine McNeil and many more. The biannual title is crafting itself a multi-faceted profile with public events and branded t-shirts that are true to the zeitgeist spirit of the magazine. Marfamily physical edition mixes raw and personal photography with intimate interviews and extends across 300+ pages.
