Rucksack Magazine Volume 5 (The City Issue) is available now on loremnotipsum.com. The stories in this issue are about cities; a celebration of the gritty, urban reality of our everyday lives. In ‘The City Issue’ we showcase the raw magnetism to be found upon the streets of an urban environment. Through a combination of written and visual stories, we explore the feeling and emotion often associated with city living.
We visit the streets of New York, journey underground in London and explore the windy city of Chicago, reflecting on what it means to call a city home. We interview ONA Bags founder, Tracey Foster, and photographer Ray H. Mercado and learn about their experience of living and working in the city. Travelling through the night as a taxi driver, we realise how it is in the dark the city is truly able to come alive. It is through exploring this internal illumination we discover the element of peace that has become so important to the pages of our magazine.
Rucksack Magazine is a bi-annual publication from the UK. We celebrate visual storytelling and are driven by our passion for adventure and photography. Each Volume explores a central theme. We do not specify our themes to a particular country or event, instead choosing a broader topic allowing for greater range of content within each magazine. We began in 2016 as an online journal. Our online journal is divided into stories, photo essays, photographer interviews and brand features. We work as a platform for new and emerging photographers and writers, connecting a global community of creative storytellers. Our brand has no limits, no boundaries; it is there for those with a thirst for adventure, those who want to create something new, something exciting. It is there to inspire, to excite and to mesmerise.
