The Weekender ist ein unabhängiges Magazin, das seit 2011 viermal pro Jahr erscheint. Auf mindestens 100 Seiten erzählen wir Geschichten über Menschen und Orte, die uns inspirieren. Es geht um Wohnen & Einrichten, Reisen, Essen, Handwerk und Natur – bildstark, klar gestaltet und auf Recyclingpapier gedruckt. Wir zeigen inspirierende Wohnorte – von der Wohnung über das Hausboot bis hin zum Schloss. Ungestylt und ohne Posing. Und wir interessieren uns für die Bewohner, die wir in verschiedenen Textformen vorstellen. Das Magazin erscheint im Eigenverlag und wird von Enthusiasten gemacht.

Dada days
Lisa Heschel ist nach ihrer Elternzeit auf Mallorca fest auf die Baleareninsel gezogen und verbindet dort örtliche Kunsthandwerker mit Menschen, die auf der Suche nach kurzen Workshops sind.

So leben wir
Jäll & Tofta gestalten für ihre Kunden massgefertigte, farbenfrohe Raumausstattungen – von der Küche bis zum Podestbett. Wir haben Sina Gwosdzik und Jakob Dannenfeldt in ihrem Zuhause in Berlin besucht.

Ein Schluck Meer
Roushanna Grey aus Südafrika hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, den Geschmack der Natur zu erkunden. In den Felsenpools von Scarborough sammelt sie mit ihren Gästen, was später auf den Tisch kommt.

Very yes
Valentino Betz und Marvin Schuhmann aus München haben als DJ-Duo Public Possession gestartet und über die Jahre einen bunten Kosmos aus Musik, Grafikdesign, Text und Happenings erschaffen.

Insel der Träume
Die griechische Insel Kalymnos ist ein Paradies für Kletterer – aber auch geeignet für Urlauber, die in der Ägäis entspannte Tage verbringen möchten. Wir haben mit beiderlei Besuchern gesprochen.

Die Spielerin
Die belgische Künstlerin Lutgart De Meyer, geboren 1924, hat in ihrem langen Leben nie die Lust am Schaffen und Experimentieren verloren. Ein Treffen in Antwerpen.
