Rabona Magazine Issue Four (The Bayer Munich Issue) is available now on loremnotipsum.com. The news issue is featuring Philipp Lahm, Mario Götze, Franz Beckenbauer and many others. Bayern Munich is a club that evokes extremes in emotion in Germany. In this issue we explore the meaning behind the Bayern mantra ‘Your hate is our pride’ and examine every facet of this super club. In our cover interview, Uli Hesse gets inside the mind of the most intelligent player Pep Guardiola has ever coached, captain Philipp Lahm. We also speak to Mario Götze about swapping Dortmund for Munich, Zonal Marking’s Michael Cox analyses the reinvention of Bastian Schweinsteiger as a deep-lying midfielder and Miguel Delaney pays tribute to one of Bayern’s greatest ever coaches, the late Udo Lattek.
Rabona Magazine is a brand new football magazine published bi-annually. The whole magazine is beautifully designed by Russian studio QUSQUS and printed by the excellent Logical Connections in England. The “rabona” is a method of kicking the football, whereby the kicking leg is wrapped around the back of the standing leg – effectively with one’s leg crossed. The first Rabona was performed by Ricardo Infante in a game between Argentine teams Estudiantes de la Plata and Rosario Central in 1948. Rabona Magazine is a celebration of great football journalism, iconic photography and a slow appreciation of everything that makes the game beautiful. Based in London, England, we are not only lovers of the extravagant cross-legged kick from which we take our name, but also great design and a sharp eye for detail. We aim to bring you the best interviews and most insightful features via our flagship bi-annual magazine, quarterly newspaper and sparkling new website.
